Remember that every tree has its specific requirements, and don't underestimate the choice of the right location. Fruit trees require sunny positions, and some more delicate varieties (peaches, apricots) also need sheltered sites and well-drained soil.
Bear in mind that every tree and shrub will eventually grow. Give them enough space so you don't have to transplant them later.
Once you've chosen the location, dig a hole. It should be deep enough so the roots don't have to be cramped or bent. If it's too shallow, the roots may dry out. If it's too deep, the roots will "suffocate" and the tree will grow more slowly. Add a little compost to the bottom of the hole.
It's good to gently prune the roots just before planting and remove any damaged ones.
Also pay attention to the graft union. The graft should remain approximately 10 cm above the surface.
Smaller trees need support. Plant a stake in the hole along with them.
Finally, gently firm down the soil around the trunk, water it, and look forward to your harvest.
