Winterize Your Favorite Chilli Plants!
How to Do It?
- The ideal time for overwintering is the end of October.
- Select only the strongest and healthiest plants.
- Remove all fruits from each plant, including unripe ones (you can let them ripen on the windowsill).
- Trim the plants so that the main stem is 10 – 15 cm, no more.
- Repot them. Fresh soil will help them "start up" faster in spring.
- If the plant has long roots, shorten them. This helps it concentrate energy.
- Place the pot in a greenhouse or on a windowsill in a cooler room that still gets sunlight in winter. The temperature should not drop below 10 degrees.
- Reduce watering; once every two to three weeks is sufficient.
With proper care, you can grow one chilli pepper plant for several years.
